One Crazy Week!!

Monday- Memorial Day
We had a pretty relaxing day we went to Clif's parents house for a cook out and I got to sit out by the pool. It was great to be out in the sun, since the whole week prior was nothing but rain and gray clouds.

Tuesday- back to work and my last official day as a full time teacher (for now) Which probably was a good thing that it ended on this day cause....well read on : } Around 4:30pm. I started having what I thought was false contractions also known as Braxton Hicks contractions. For those of you that don't know what those are they are contractions that happen to get your body ready for the real thing. At 5:00 I realised that I had had 6 of these contractions....I usually have 3-4 a day. So I thought to myself I don't think this is right. To make a long story short I was admitted to the hospital around 11:45pm that night.

Wednesday- I was still in the hospital sitting in the bed while they monitored the contractions that I was having. Along side me were Clif and his parents. Well Nina was sitting next to me, Clif and Brent were trying their hardest to make me laugh while breaking many latex gloves... So after 2 hours of monitoring We found out that I was having regular contractions every couple of minutes(which would be fine if I was full term) but with 8 weeks to go this was not good news. So I got some shots of Terbutaline (which stopped the contractions)and was put on bed rest for the rest of the day. So We got home around 3:00am and all was well....
Until 11:00 am when the contractions started again. I went to the doctors this time. and He told me that the contractions weren't changing my cervix at all (yeah : D) best news ever. He tested to see if I a protein that that causes pre-term labor and he gave me a perscription of terbutaline, that I now have to take every 6 hours to stop the contractions.

Thursday-More bed rest...uhhhh Which I had to be on until I got the results from the protein test!!!! If it was positive=bed rest for 8 weeks and negative= I could get off the couch and go back to normal life. So around 5:00 I got the results back and it was negative....Yes normal life (well a little less normal cause I have to take it easy) But taking it easy is way better then couch sitting!!!

Friday- I was able to go back to work which was so exciting for me. Clif and I went to my Sister Bailee's 8th Birthday party. Which means time for a Baptism!!

On a funny note: Some of side effects of the medicine I'm taking are feeling jittery and shakey....so needless to say I look pretty funny while trying the pick anything up or writing : )

So even though it was a Crazy week it was ok because it was all for our Little Girl. As long as she is healthy and happy, I will sit on a couch for her any day.

Our Sweet Baby Girl <3

Thats right we found out that we are going to be having a GIRL!! Thalia Maree!

She moves a lot and if she is anything like her father and I, she is going to be a very active person. She is growing so fast. She is now 12 ounces and 10 inches long and she has 20 more weeks to grow :) she is already our little princess and we are so excited to say that she makes a wonderful addition to our family!!!

3 (what a great age =D )

Life has changed a lot in the past month. I recently went from working part time to full time and with that change came three year olds. I am now the 3's teacher at the Sunshine House! I love it. I now have my own classroom and get to write my own lessons plans!! Three year old children are so funny and literal. They sure bring a huge smile to my face everyday. Each morning we start off by saying as a class " we're going to have a great day!" and then we have a big group hug. I am so blessed to have these sweet children in my life and to get paid to do the one thing in life that I absolutley love.

ahhhhh LIFE!!

So life can be crazy sometimes....stressful as anything!!! I have really been stressing about being a good mom. Some might think I'm crazy for thinking that, but here is my reasoning. I have changed hundreds of diapers, feed lots of babies, even taught them how to crawl and walk....but these all have been children that dont come home with me. As a teacher in a daycare I teach the children all kinds of things, but I am going to have teach my child how to love, respect others, and to have faith in the Lord. That is a HUGE responsibilty. Its nuts to think about. So being that I am going to have to teach my child to have faith in the Lord I must have faith that he will never give me more then I can handle. I guess he thinks that I can handle raising a child.

So I am just about 16 weeks and that means 2 more weeks until we find out that what the baby is!!! I can't wait!!!

So lesson learned: have faith in the Lord because he kinda knows what he is doing!!!

*next chapter in life: Britani becomes a MOM!!!( so awesome!!)

Wednesday, January 21, 2009

Well I haven't blogged in a really long time....but a lot has changed since october. Since then I found out that I was pregnant. Wow am I excited. I can't wait to have a little one running around, that looks like me!! so crazy. It just seems like I have been watching and raising children for so long that I can't help but be nervous to raise my own child. Hopefully all of this training will pay off! I am now 13 weeks along and time sure does fly.

---So I have decided that I would much rather my child have more books to read then toys to play with. Today I went to Barnes & Noble to get a book for my history class, and they had a bunch of children books for 75% off....so I got a few. I got these books for $1.49 what a deal!!! I was so excited that I got to start my baby's library of books for a great price!!! : )

---Life has been crazy, but I love where I'm at. Now more then ever I know that FAMILY IS MOST IMPORTANT... and that the LORD KNOWS THE PLAN THAT WORKS BEST!! I am so greatful for family and friends that support our family....They are one of the main reasons why I get through life!!! Thanks for your love!!!
